Special Project
Among the multiple projects 4-h has to offer, there are also special projects that require approval from the BC 4-H Office to begin. These are ; self determined, Senior Management, and Junior Leader.
Self Determined
The Self-Determined project allows members to choose, plan, carry out and evaluate a project of their choice. It begins with a project outline to the leader and must be 4 to 6 months for juniors or groups, and 10 to 12 months for
senior members. Some examples of projects: landscaping your backyard, research and photo story of a family vacation, building a shelter for animals, blacksmithing, or making a quilt.

Senior Management
This project is the advance skill units of each of the 4-H projects. It is for the most experienced of 4-H members and should be completed only after a member has achieved a high skill level in regular project work. The
requirement for completion is 10 to 12 months of work. The last units of the project regulations outline some of the options for each project.

Junior Leader
The Junior Leader project gives senior members the opportunity to share with junior members the knowledge they have gained through 4-H. It can be a project that teaches a skill to juniors or an organized event such as a clinic day or judging competition. Three years of junior leadership is one of the qualifications for external credits to be used toward graduation.
